Have a read below to find out how we make The Good Box happen!
Buying the box
Boxes can be purchased online and delivered to you to give directly to someone in need OR sent with a personal note to one of our homeless charity partners.
We work closely with the homeless community to provide the right items in the box – everything in the boxes have been carefully picked. Each box is designed to tell a true story of someone experiencing homelessness through a local artist’s illustrations. Many people within the homeless community love to tell & write stories, so we have made a position on the bottom of the box for the receiver to write their own story.
Upon checkout, you may wish to write a personal note to the person receiving your box and we will hand-write and put it inside the box for you. We provide a personalised journey for all our customers by keeping you informed on the exact impact you are making through the purchase of a box.
Handing out boxes together
Every 6 weeks, we (Maddy & Gali) along with our wonderful volunteers go out and give boxes to those sleeping rough and have a beautiful chat. This is a great way for our volunteers to see first-hand how much it can brighten up someone’s day by simply saying ‘hi, how are you’ and giving them beautifully packaged gift. If you would like to volunteer for this day please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will update you on dates and times. This is offered in Sydney, Brisbane and Townsville. If you would prefer to donate a box specifically for these day, please indicate at the end of checkout.
School and Corporate Programs
Are you interested in your school or company learning about homelessness with team building elements and doing good at the same time? We provide education and box packing programs for high schools and professionals/corporate as team building activities. We do the corporate team building activities in partnership with Orange Sky Australia. Email us at email@example.com to find out more.
We connect Good Box recipients with the correct charity providers in order to assist with any issues or problems they may be having at the time. We go out on the streets as often as possible to get feedback and insight on the impact we are making on those sleeping rough.
Not only are you seeing the direct impact by brightening someone’s day with a beautifully packaged gift, this idea also encourages conversations and aims to change our perceptions of homelessness one box at a time.
